This is another interesting project. The client, based in the United States, approached us with an exciting proposition. They wanted to enhance their property by adding a backhouse that would serve as a multi-functional space, expanding the use of their backyard.
To ensure that the new addition seamlessly blended with the existing house, our team meticulously designed plans that complemented the original architectural language. We took into consideration the client’s specific requirements, creating a space that not only met their needs but also exceeded their expectations.
During the planning phase, we carefully studied the layout of the property, considering factors such as access, orientation, and the surrounding environment. We aimed to create a design that optimally utilized the available space while harmonizing with the overall aesthetics of the existing house.
To meet the client’s vision, we integrated various features into the backhouse design. The versatile space was designed to accommodate a range of activities, such as a home office, an entertainment area, or even a guest suite. Each detail was thoughtfully considered, from the lighting fixtures to the choice of materials, to create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.

The end result was a stunning backhouse that seamlessly integrated with the existing property, providing the client with a versatile and functional space. The addition not only expanded the usability of their backyard but also elevated the overall aesthetic appeal of the entire property.
General focus was to orient the interior living space to the back yard using large openings and a pergola with a barbeque area on the side. Proposed materials are also following the logic of the existing main building materials use.
